What's the boiler pressure gauge showing when the radiators are cold?

It's just under 1. Borderline between the red zone and green... perhaps more into the red, from memory (I'm at work at the moment so cant check)
Worth topping it up a little, do you think?

For a typical property 1 bar maximum is sufficient...don't be tempted to set it any higher.

I would call out and engineer to diagnose. Could possibly be your hot water plate heat exchanger blocked. Thats what my money is on!

Thanks. From reading up online today the heat exchanger does seem to be a likely suspect.

I'm not back at the house for a few days as I work away during the week so I've just been trying to get a bit of a heads up as to what the problem could be, and will get a gas-safe plumber around to take a look as soon as I can..
