Hi All,

My dad cuts fire wood and does the occasional project and he's been hankering after a table mounted circular saw.

Any recommendations?

A table saw will cut timber along its length, and will also do firewood .....it will only cut angles along the timbers length, not across the grain.
A chop saw will do that, great for mitres and cutting across the grain.
Don't trust any mitre compass to be accurate, or a fence either.....!
Best to keep one blade for firewood, and one for projects, I feel.
John :)
