No aerial

Sons moved out so we have a spare room. Going to put a treadmill and bike in there. There's no aerial but it has twin sky cables (he's took the box with him). Is there a way i can watch the tv in there without getting another sky box ?

If you want to use the cables as-is you will need a sattelite box or a TV with built in sattelite tuner.

You can pick up used sky boxes dirt cheap. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=sky+box&_sop=15

Note that sky+ boxes need a subscription to record.

A quick search seemed to indicate a freesat box was ~£50 wheras used sky boxes were being sold for virtually nothing (I saw one with a starting bit of 1p and no bids, it was collection only though......)

Yes, Freesat, as others stated.

However, the cheapest way IS to get a used Sky Digibox.
