We've had a hard two days finishing bathroom, the flexible grout we used took a long time to go off!
Dont know if it was something to do with the edges of the tiles being highly polished?? They didnt look pourous at all.

It was touch and go with the amount of grout we had, and we finished the floor but we were not 100% happy!

So when we turn up 2moro were expecting the worst!

Q- Can you grout over areas that are suspect or will we have to rake areas out and re-grout......bearing in mind we've only just grouted today and we're back in morning :?:

depends on the grout and how much you are filling, lots of grouts need a minimum depth to gain a key. if its just a few low spots you should be fine, but if the whole area is a bit rough then it may not take. That said you've nothing to lose, if you do go over it and then it starts to come out you'll need to rake out anyway so you may as well try it.

Bought a decent rake and removed 1/2 the depth of the grout.
HARD WORK!

Made the grout thicker this time and pushed it in joints really good.
The washing down took forever! The tiles had a fine dark edge to them so when i wiped over you could see a unsightly line.

****ing Sick....

Had to put 3 times more graft in to go over every indiviual bloody tile and then the textured finish to the tiles was holding all the grout no matter how hard i worked.
Literally went over four , five times and the floor is around 9 square meters.

Finally when it misted over there were areas that still had collected grout in the grain but i had enougth and went home.....will give it a final buff up next time im there.
