I am replacing current incandescent down lighters with LED equivalents.

Unfortunately the replacement units are a smaller diameter than the current down lighters. How can I reduce the size of the hole to enable me to securely fit the new units?

The ceiling is plasterboard and due to aesthetics relocating the lights, even slightly, is not an option.

Incidentally the ceiling has never been plastered and I want to get this work completed prior to having the entire ceiling plastered.

I would greatly appreciate any advice.

Markk1988,

Many thanks for responding. What you say makes perfect sense and is a great solution to the problem.

Thanks again.
