2 way light switch problem

Am I missing something here?

Safely isolate first. At the existing loft switch you want to convert to 2 way, refit the live feed and switch wires into L1 and L2 along with the black and grey from the 3 core that goes to the other switch.

The brown of the 3 core goes to common.

At the new 2 way switch for the loft, connect the other end of the 3 core the same way: brown to common and the other two to their respective terminals.

Doh!

RF beat me to it: moving the red from Common to L1...

Dozy bleeder me!

Yep, got it all sorted now, thanks all. Didn't take me long to realise my error! Doh! All now working as it should. I think where I went wrong is - the wiring layout was simple, I went and made it complicated!

PS. RFLighting, no I haven't added the additional lighting and wiring yet.

I think that where you went wrong was to decide that you could just dive in and do this without taking the trouble to learn how it worked first.
