The Worcester Bosch 28CDI boiler we have is approaching ten years old.

Compared to when the boiler was first installed, the time taken for hot water to come through the taps has been increasing - which is what I would expect.

This morning I timed it, 44 seconds. Seems excessive???

The boiler is serviced annually by British Gas. It is sited in our loft (if that makes any difference).

Is it purely the age of the boiler that is the likely cause of this poor performance?

we had a customer in same position as yourself ref hot water.

attended to price to replace.

nothing overly wrong with the boiler.

advised we would replace the plate heat ex, diverter and the filling loop.

did all the above, £300 inc vat later, customer had great hot water again and all was well.

sometimes, you just need to have the right people look at the boiler and give honest advice.
