My sons owns his flat, the night storage heaters are getting a bit old controls don't work e.g. no control over heat output on full all the time.

Dimplex XLS 12. one in each room

What's best to replace with ??

Are there any that have a separate heater in for when the stored herat has been used ?

Seen these , Dimplex Quantum storage heaters, how would you rate them.

Thanks.

It is just a mechanical flap which is easy to repair.

Yes. As below.

They are fine.

Quite an expense to replace them. What may work (I haven't tried but have wondered), is if you can replace the front with one from a Dimplex CXLS12 / CXL12, which is the version with a convector in the front.

If you did this, or bought Dimplex Duoheat or Quantum, you would need a permanent power supply adding near to each heater. This may be simple, or a compete pain in the ass!

Dimplex Quantum are excellent heaters, but will cost several thousand pounds to install into a typical flat - money which you will never recover.

The existing heaters can be repaired easily and cheaply.

If they are cold at the end of the day, then either
a. one or more elements have failed - easily replaced
b. the controls are set wrongly or are broken - again, easily fixed.
b. the heaters are far too small for the property (unlikely)
