Hi,

Next week I am changing my parents toilet. Unfortunately the existing waste pipe is pot and set in concrete and is 6" from the wall to the edge of the pipe. The toilet we have needs the waste to be almost up to the wall. However, there is the vent pipe behind some panelling to the left. Could I seal off the old pot pipe and tee into the plastic 4" vent pipe? I think it is physically possible but wondered if there was some regulation prohibiting this.

Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks in advance

You need to find out if it is soley a vent pipe.
Vent pipes do not have the slow bend which is needed to prevent blockages. You do need to check or you will have problems in the future. :(
