Pretty much every sysadmin I come across uses nLite which makes the whole process of customising and updating a xp install disk very easy, and it's free

- Component Removal
- Unattended Setup
- Driver Integration *
- Hotfixes Integration **
- Tweaks
- Patches ***
- Bootable ISO creation
* - Textmode (CD Boot) and normal PnP
** - hotfixes with white icons, *KB*.exe, including update packs and Internet Explorer 7
***- supports generic SFC, Uxtheme, TcpIp and Usb Polling patching.

A little more than I required... But I'll have a shot if and when XP up and running on this old steam powered PC !
