We own a house that was built in 1904 and are currently renevating the front garden. The existing cover (in the front drive) is the original but it looks damaged. How do i go about removing and replacing the cover? Where can i find new covers? and is this a job i can do? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks

Measure it and check your local builders' yard. Sometimes new covers will fit old frames but more often you have to chip put the old frame and replace it. You may also find your local scrapyards worth a ring, they salvage useful things like unbroken lids.

Many Builders Merchants are unfriendly unless you have an account.

B&Q and Wicks usually have at least one size/type.
