I am just wondering why you need to have an independant water supply to shower pump.

At the moment, the cold water tank only seems to feed the immersion heater? Can i not simply T-off of this and pipe onto the shower pump.

I just want to know the consequences of this as draining the cold water tank and then having to drill a new feed seems a bit of a work up. I look forward to your replies.

I you did as you propose then both hot and cold supplies would be drawn from the same connection from the feed tank, causing high flow rates and high resistance on the shared section of pipe. Consequently the water level in the vent pipe from the cylinder would be drawn down and this may well result in air being sucked into the hot water pipe which would damage the pump.
