Hi All,

Simple little question although I don't know the answer ?

Which way round do rad brackets fasten to the wall ?

Long or short edge to wall ?
If I fit them short edge- the rad is blinking close !

Cheers

To a professional that is a very simple ( I nearly typed stupid! ) question.

They are designed to be used either way according to the spacing you wish to obtain.

Its quite common to use the wide spacing for a single panel and the short spacing for a double panel.

Maximum heat transfer is obtained with the widest spacing and adequate clearance should be given to window sills and skirting boards.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the speedy reply, I will fit it wide side.

What's your preference for fittings, always match the original soldered copper or would you go for a speedy push fit job (your own house) ?

When the choice is yours as they say !
I am yet to be converted to push fit.

I dont use plastic tube in any normal situation.

I only use pushfit connections as a temporary measure to get something working quickly pending refitting in copper.

The Tectight pushfit are pretty good though and if I could not use soldering I would have no hesitation using them ( apart from the high cost ). You have to be aware that they do not guaranty electrical continuity.
