My house doesn't have a room thermostat, it just has a very basic old mechanical timer - 24hrs, 30 minute resolution if that. So I'm thinking of installing a Drayton Digistat RF 3i with the optimum start feature on. It should save me doing any wiring apart from the wireless base station (for me, this is worth the 50 quid extra over a wired stat).

Is this a good idea ? Do they work well ? Any other wireless stats available ? And where's a good (cheap but reliable) place to buy them from. The optimum start thing sounds a bit gimmicky but never mind.
