I've been having some intermittent hot water problems recently with my Worcester 280 combi.
More often than not the water runs hot in a few mins, but occasionally it can take 5 - 10 mins. Turning the tap on and off 'seems' to help but it still takes a while. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Many Thanks.

Sounds like a flow switch / diaphragm problem. You need to study the boiler manual if you want to deal with this yourself.

Thanks Chris.

Is it normal to have intermittent problems with either of these?

When diaphragms develop a split they will fail to respond to low flows but still work for higher flows, until the split gets bigger. It would help if you said whether your boiler has a diaphragm or a flow switch. The manual will tell you.

On the WB 280, it's a flow-switch, which should operate at 2.6 l/min.

If the boiler hangs around for a while doing nothing, then the demand light comes on, and it lights up immediately, chances are it's the flowswitch failing

Is the system pressure normal?

That is about 1.5 Bar???

Pressure was a bit low @ just over 1 bar. Topped it up to 1.5 now. Will that help?
