I have a fairly new bathroom. The water from this bathroom is from a tank (hot and cold) There is hardly any cold water coming out of the cold tap. What is the solution. I have no idea why this bathroom is fed from a tank rather than mains . Any ideas and what is the solution for the cold water. Does it need a pump?? Thanks

New monoblock taps with restictive borings.
Tap flexis with a restrictive bore.
Incorrectly sized pipework.
Overuse of tight elbows as opposed to swept bends.

All this doesnt help. We have found that the taps are usually the problem. They are usually designed for high pressure systems and mis sold to customers with gravity fed systems - it is very common. Especially if you bought it from a shed or any other non specialist bathroom supplier.

I know nothing about plumbing but am sure the plumbing is not the best as I know the flat was developed by amateurs. We installed the bathroom but didi not replace all the plumbing.

The bathroom looks terrific and we spent a lot of money and they were supposed to know what they wererdoing with supplying the correct taps. I would not go back to them .The tank is not high enough I think (so says my husband) if it were a house it would be in a loft. Are you sure the taps are the issue?

Yes you have had the wrong type of taps fitted, no more no less

and unless you can get you tank to, lets say, 80 meters higher than your bathroom they are never ever going to work properly

you WILL have to change them to low pressure taps

is it just the bathroom taps? or is it just the bath taps or all the taps in your house?
