Hi,
We bled all the radiators in March (first time since we moved in, in 2005) when a couple started underperforming. As soon as we did it, they stopped completely, save for one bedroom which heats at the bottom when the hot water is switched on. The hot water works fine except for some rumblings when it's left on for an hour.
The plumber we called out took one look at the boiler and said he wouldn't touch it and anyone else we called would say the same - he'd rather replace everything. He barely looked at it and didn't even go near the radiators!
We have a very old looking Ideal Mexico (II?). I'm guessing it must be nearing it's end but we're not ready to upgrade just yet unless we have to.
Does our problem really sound that severe or do the radiators need a bit more TLC? Would we be better off calling an Ideal service engineer?
Thanks in advance,
Sue.
