my combi boiler overflow pipe is slowly dripping out water into the outside garden. the pressure in the boiler seems fine (2 bar) how do i rectify this problem
If the prv (overflow) has opened then the boiler has overpressurised due to a fault with the expansion vessel or high limit stat.
The constant dripping may be occuring due to dirt on the PRV valve seating but either way if it has automatically opened there is a problem with your boiler.

try this just switch the prv a few times to clear the cr..ap off the seating and it should stop the dripping and the pressure should be 0.5 to 1 bar cold
