Removing Sink from worktop

Unfortunately I need to remove a newly fitted kitchen sink, due to one of the bowls being porous.

I bedded it down on a thin bead of silicon, 3 days ago, now I can’t get it to release from the worktop surface.

Any ideas how it can be done without damaging the new worktop ?

heeellooo Ken555 and welome

you need to use something like a "sharp" chisel in constant contact with the worktop [whether flat or on the front beveled angle]small saw movements at right angle to the bead a few mm at a time to avoid scratching to cut the silicone

it needs to be fully de burred or it may scratch the surface

silicone this new should be easy to remove as it has set but has not lost its full elasticity

Cheers Big-all worked ! Managed to get chisel in followed by a thin wall paper stripper.

Sink removed at 1:57 am, time for bed I think

go to bed you dirty stop out

i know what its like to be working this late but the trouble is the temptation to use a saw then a hammer ect at this time off the morning
