OVERFLOW driving us insane!!!

Now we know the relative levels of the tanks I know that the cylinder coil is not leaking!

The second bit is only whats expected as you cold comes direct from the mains.

We still dont really know about the ball valve level.

Can you view the big tank when no water has been used for say 30 minutes and see the level of water in it compared with the overflow pipe level? It should be about 50 mm below!

also chrisr think you may be on to something i turned the water off under the sink in kitchen put thge immersion on and went into the bathroom and put on both taps the hot water came out as normal the cold tap came out as a slow flow for a couple of minutes then turned into a drip.???

Right. It'll keep dripping. Leave the immersion heater on so the hot water is nice and hot. Open all the cold taps and leave it with them open, for a few hours say. All the pipes to the hot taps and the taps themselves should cool right down. If one of the taps is passing water inside, from hot to cold, it might drip at the offending tap though the water might go back down the "cold" pipe to a lower tap. But the tap itself (and the pipe to the hot tap, if you can get at it), would be warm. Warmer than the others anyway.
