Hi,
My partner drained and removed our lounge radiator in order for us to clean and decorate behind it.
We have replaced it on the brackets but just need to know whether the rad will fill up with water automatically? We haven't a water tank - we have a combi-system.
Any advice please?
Thanks
Debbie

Personally.....

Do it with the heating off.
Having connected both feed and return pipes (keeping the valves shut), open the bleed valve on the radiator then open either the feed or return valve a turn or so. Keep a towel handy.... eventually all the air will be expelled from the rad and you should get a flow of water from the bleed valve instead of air..... this would be a good point to close the bleed valve!

This should minimise the amount of air that gets circulated around the rest of the system.

Open the feed and return valves as necessary - referring to the notes you made about how many turns it took to close the lockshield valve

Top up the pressure as per the FAQ.
