Little peas of lead

Every 4 or 5 months the cold tank stops filling and on taking apart the ball valve I find a little pea of lead blocking the flow. Where could this lead be coming from? The house is over 100 years old, but all the connections are copper

it sounds like solder in the pipes, by-product of installation.

plumber a little to happy with the solder?

try flushing the pipework out,this sould sort it.
 
and there was me thinking an old lead main was crumbling :oops: :oops:

Are these shiny, bright and round (like a pea)?

And are they really as big as a pea?
 
No they are about the size of a piece of barley- 3 mm, and this plumbing has been around since I bought the house - 18 years ago, and it still occurs regulary!

lead does go crystalline with age but I`d have thought it would have burst by now if it was that weak........there`s got to be a lead pipe underground somewhere near to be causing it :confused:
