Hi all,

I am having a boiler repositioned on a wall which has the gas meter box flush mounted on the outside. The flue will be above the meter box. I rang the manufacturer for advice on the distance allowed from the flue to the meter box and was told 300mm. I was wondering whether this sounds right to you experts?

Thankyou

You want it closer? It doesn't really matter what we think, you must follow the manufacturer's instructions, unless they conflict with the law (Building Regs, Gas Safety Regs, etc.).

No I dont want it closer, i want it right! The Manufacturer's instructions does'nt mention my situation so i called them and they said just treat it as a Plastic gutter, therefore 300mm it is. I was wondering whether anyone here might comment on how this sounds to them?

Sounds more than adequate clearance to me. Your boiler is presumably a condensing boiler with a fanned flue, so the flue gases will be quite cool and will be directed away from the flue quite forcefully. Not much danger of them coming into contact with anything 300mm away.
