Hope you can help.

When either the hot water or central heating is on I have noticed that there is water coming from the expansion tank overflow. It is not excessive but just drips of water.

I have inspected the expansion tank and have found that it is not overflowing however there is a lot of steam which is the cause of problem.

Any ideas how this can be solved?

Thanks.

Unless you noticed the water boiling it is more likely to be;

- pump selectable speed set too high
- sludge in system preventing adequate circulation
- pipe work partial blockage
- poor system design

Either way you will be creating a corroded mess out of your heating system if you do not stop the 'pumping over'.

Thanks for the replies.

I don't thinks its the pump as I have put it on its lowest setting and the problem still occurs.

The water in the expansion tanks is not overflowing however there appears to excessive steam which is condensing through the overflow.

I guess there must be some type of blockage - I will try cleaning the system.

Any advice in this area would be appreciated.
