do 22mm isolators, if full open, still restrict the flow of water to a bath (therefore it fills slower with gravity feed)...and is that why you never see isolators on the hot and cold 22mm feed pipes to a bathroom for maintenance.

You can buy "Full Flow" ones, which have levers, much better.
Usually it's easier to go into the loft to turn the water off than get the bath panlel off!
