Diplomat Dishwasher keeps flashing and wont wash

Nope. No idea at all. Impossible to tell without a model number.
Diplomat machines are made by various manufacturers and rebadged.

OK, older model machine. Which lights are flashing and which are solid?
Count from left to right.

the actual start button /far right is flashing. the rinse button is solid green.
You can hold start button down and then you can move the other buttons to go from rinse to say pots however when you shut dishwasher door it starts bleeping and when you open door it has reverted back to rinse, with no water coming out

Check the model number, it sounds more like an 8322.
If it is count the flashes between pauses on the start button.
Continuous flash without pauses indicates an NTC (temperature sensor) problem.
