Damp - on freshly plastered painted over wall

Hi,

We recently had our dinning room replastered. There were a couple of points in this room where the plaster had to be applied extremely thickly. I have since painted this room but in the places where the plaster went on thick there is obvious damp coming through.

Is this because these places were not fully dried out, and what can I not do to fix this problem?

Any advice welcomed, thanks.

Was there any history of damp prior to plastering ?

Best thing to do is scrap off the damp area and leave it to fully dry before applying fresh paint. If you dont want to see bare patches of plaster then apply some Dulux Supermatt emusion as will allow the wall to dry out and it doesn't contain vinyl which traps moisture behind it.

What type of emulsion did you apply ?

It was just a cheap white focus emulsion (as an undercoat on the plaster), then an ordinary crown emulsion.
