If you paid him a bit more he'd be able to have his hairy a**e waxed then it might not be such a problem for you.

I suggest you carefully select a specialist boiler technician to work for you instead. They know FAR more about boiler fault diagnosis than hairy arsed plumbers ;)

Cheers!

Looks that way cos this hairy arsed plumber / heating engineer / qualified builder aint telling you wots up.

While you are sat in the cold contemplating how to get out of your predicament, consider the benefits of being nice to people who can help you.

Suggest modify tone of post and you might get some reasonable answers.

Last person who posted in similar manner got zilch advice.

Little more info would be nice, cant really help on this info TBH.

Do you have a room thermostat? Is it turned to max when you expect the rads to heat up?

Red flshing light i think the boiler is in stanby mode when it satisfied that the Central Heating is up to temp.

Do you have a bypass valve fitted and the water is heating taking the easiet route?

Does the pump even run?

See what i mean more info.

Oh and ignore the Hair Ass Plumbers that replied, we are a fickle bunch sometimes us plumbers!

There aren't any room thermostats, and as for the bypass I haven't a clue. It sounds like the pump kicks in for about a second or so then theres a click and the red light starts to flash. When I use the hot tap the system fires up but as soon as I turn the tap off the boiler stops again. Even if I run the taps for a long time and the boiler starts up I still don't get any heat in to the radiators. Sorry I can't give you any more info as what repairs have been done to the machine as I haven't been in the property that long. Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

Do you have a set of instructions? If not call Ferroli and they will send you a set.

The boiler is of the combination variety and so running the hot water has nothing to do with if it will/willnot light for Heating, infact running the Hot Water will cancel the Heating Operation for 3mins.

Does it have a small digital clock on the control panel if so is this set to constant heating? Look at the pic switch on top left should be over to the left.

If you dont want to spen d money i suggest you get hold of those instructions and follow the fault diagnosis flow charts for heating.

My control panel is oblong with a flip down front and from memory (I'm stuck at work at the moment!!) I don't recall a setting for constant heat. I haven't changed any settings and it's been working fine until I got back from holiday. Unfortunately I don't have any instructions at all so I might do as you suggest and contact Ferroli. Again thanks for your time and help
