Hi,

I have an old radiator in my kitchen that I want to replace. I dont want to go through the hassle of draining the system for this one rad. Is it feasible to clean off the pipe further along and just quickly cut the pipe and bung on a push fit joint with a small bit of tube and an isolator valve on it (Turned off!)

Never used push fit, are they any good and is my suggestion recommended or not?

Thanks.

turn valves off, drain off rad and remove.
if you have a long length of pipe before the tail, then could freeze pipe cut quickly and put and isolator on (obviously make sure that the isolator is in the off position before you put it on). Then adjust and fit new rad.

If you feel the need to put a fitting on a pipe that's gushing water, you will find it easier to get it in place with the valve open. You can close the valve when the fitting is tight.

You could bung the vent and cold feed that will cause a vaccuum a little amount of water will come out thats your best bet
