I have a baxi combie 80e with a digital timer built in to the boiler and located on the boiler. I have thermostatic rad valves too.

I was hoping this would be ok when installed last year, but it is a nuisance to run up and down to the boiler and squint at the small display for the timer. It is also a nightmare to program.

My solution is to add a programmable stat downstairs, however from my searching it appears not to be a plug and play job

What I'm after advice for is:
Can you recommend a particular product? (Been on to screwfix and they've recommended to contact baxi and offered no advice).

Are they straightforward to install?

Will i require any additional connections?

Thanks in advance for any replies

Baxi do a wireless remote programmer incorporating the room stat. the sender unit fits into the hole in facia left by your existing programmer. And fit onto existing wiring. They are not long out but plumb centre should be able to help you

Sounds ideal! Thanks for the prompt reply too!

Spoke to Plumb Centre, but they're not sure which 1 it is and the 1 they've recommended is just a wireless stat with no programmer and it's £115!

Do you know the model no or manufacturer?

Thanks again

It is a baxi part purely for there range of boilers and part number is 5117511. PLUMB CENTRE part code 118443 i think

You could leave the boiler's timer on 24/7 and use a prog stat, sure.
The p-s can be a wired one, say £35, or a radio one, double that or more, which also would need a receiver box wiring into the boiler to appear to it to be the thermostat.
