System has needed topping up twice a year since installed (4 years ago) . Low pressure light comes up and normally just top up from below.

Now it appears that the water isn't getting into the system. I know that it is coming through and the valve is open, however the low pressure light remains as does the cold water and no heating.

Any thoughts / ideas or suggestions????

the low pressure switch is probably blocked and not detecting the pressure. needs cleaning out or replacing. both require the boiler to be drained.

If the pressure is set to about 1.8 Bar then it usually resets itself after a few hours!

and then when it heats up it rises to more than 3 bar and blows the prv brilliant

If the expansion vessel is correctly pressurised it should only rise by about 0.3-0.4 Bar between a cold and a hot system.
