Hi

I'm tiling onto exterior grade ply around the bath and sink (not the shower this has been done using aqua panel).

Should I first seal the ply to waterproof it further?

A friend said they didn't seal theirs and the tiles came off because the ply warped, I think when it soaked in moisture from the adhesive and then dried again. Possibly this was because they may not have had exterior grade ply.

Any hints, tips etc much appreciated.

thanks

Ply + tiles is a disaster waiting to happen. The material expands and contracts with moisture. Aquapanel it - or you'll have to do it all again.

It's already done in ply. We used ply because it was a lot cheaper and the bath and sink won't really be exposed to constant water soaking like the shower.

thanks

it may have been cheaper in the start, but will it be cheaper in the end?

with the amount of time effort & £ you will spend trying to make it waterproof it may be easier to use aqua panel in the first place
