Another bathroom tiling question

Hi, we have just had our bathroom skimmed,can i tile straight onto the new plaster or should i pva or something?

Seal it with PVA and water etc.. stops the grout pulling any crap off the wall and going black and also the adhesive drying and maybe tiles falling off!!
 
Opinions on the use of PVA are mixed. You should really contact the tile adhesive manufacturer to see what they recommend - they might have their own primer.
 
im not an expert on the stuff but i wouldnt pva the wall before tiling,a good adhesive will stick like siht to a blanket

You should be able to tile straight onto the skim. However a suitable primer will give you an extended working time as it stops the skim sucking the water out of the adhesive.

Check what your adhesive maker suggests, not always PVA.

never use diy pva on walls willy nilly.....FACT

get your tiles an adhesive/ mud mixs..


an most say NO NO NO NO NO !!!!!
 
to stop the adhesive from drying to quickly i wipe the new plaster wiyh a wet sponge seems to give you alot more working time//////
