banging boiler please help

Dear All

Recently my boiler has started to make loud banging sounds but only when the hot water is used. I have a combi boiler. When I use the central heating it works fine?
Also when it is making the bang the pressure needle fluctuates. It seems to settle down after running for a while.
My boiler is 5 years old. a gas boiler
I recently had a new bath installed by a plumber this seems to be when it started. The plumber only turnt the boiler off and did not touch as he was not corgi registered.
Any ideas ? any help greatly welcomed.

I dont think you will get any very useful replies until you tell us what the make and model is !

I presume that the boiler is correctly pressurised to about 1.5 Bar ???

Its unlikely to have any connection with the bathroom work.

It sounds like a seriously blocked plate heat exchanger or a failed temperature control system.
