I'm shortly going to take out a 'decorative stone fire place'. It's a floor to ceiling fireplace!

I'll get the wall replastered and then I want to continue the existing coving across the plastered bit.

How can I match the coving? It's an egg and dart style.
Is this something a builder merchant can do for me? Will I have to hope there is a makers name on the back?

The alternative is to recove the whole room!

You could always take a piece of coving down and make a mold to duplicate the original. Not as difficult as it sounds.

Any fiberous plaster specialist will be able to take a mould and run a new section to match but its not cheap. If the cornice is fairly new then there is a possibility that its a standard one but finding who made it may be tricky.
