My mate has a semi detached house, his central heating pump died so asked me to change it, it didn't have any valves so I needed to drain it down, which I did except possibly one radiator.
I couldn't get a pump that day even though I took the old one out, so considered putting the old pump back in, but I thought nah it'll be alright. The next day went round there with a pump and I noticed the water was right at the top of the pipe where the pump should be. So I went downstairs and drained some more off, but not enough the next thing water is running everywhere, I thought the tied up ball valve had dropped so I ran downstairs turn the water main off, managed to clean the downstairs walls and fix the new pump in. But the valve upstairs was still secure so it must have been one radiator that I forgot to drain down that caused the water.
The next day my friends neighbour comes up to him and asked him if he had any problems, as he had lifted all his floorboards up looking for a water leak that was dripping on his new Bang&Olufsen TV
