While installing a new tub we've had to install new ABS drain/overflow tubing to the existing line. The old set was copper on top of a lead pipe "P" trap and pipe heading to the main stack. I've had to cut off the copper drain/overflow and now have to attach the new ABS to the lead "P" trap. The lead is not perfectly round. The question is what options do I have to mate the two materials together so they are secure and long lasting? Also considering the level of the drain in relation to the tub, I can not add any height to the drain/tub connection, but I could go lower. Images might be available if that would help.

why cant you replace the leadall the way to where it terminates. If not there are compression type plastic couplings available .if using the McAlpine type u need to cut out the inner sleeve on the lead side with a stanley knife taking great care not to slip to get it to go on.
