changing tap washer

i need to change washer on a monoblock , cant get the dam stem assembly out( stuck solid) anyone got any tricks to get these things out without chewing the crappy nut to bits

its a mono bloc with seperate hot and cold levers, ive taken the head cover off but the assembly/spindle wont budge

Its the only way to get it undone. Are you using an adjustable spanner or a pair of grips? grips will probably be better than the spanner if its that tight :idea:
 
tried grips, used a good one....just wondered if there were any tricks to loosen them, maybe using heat to expand(prob a daft suggestion), ....looks like new tap on the cards

Sorry, Can't think of any tricks, try using a small set of stilsons on them, Stilsons have a very good grip.

Yup that is a bit daft ;)

Do you know what make and model of tap it is?
Even if you totally mash it to bits getting the body out, it would be cheaper to replace this part than get a whole new tap.
