Hi guys , ok I have a house with ducted hot air heating and at present heat the water with an immersion heater . Is this the best way ??

Or would it be better to fit a gas instant water heater/boiler/combi etc

Some of our hot water pipe runs are very long and seems to be a waste of so much hot water .

So what do you think the best all round solution would be.

Many thanks for reading

Rachael. ;)

I suppose that if you are happy with the warm air then its OK for you.

We have removed several and replaced them with traditional wet systems piped with copper. About £4500. I have only met one person who likes warm air. Many find them dusty and agravate asthma.

There is little point in replacing an immersion with an instant water heater for £800 unless there are a lot of people.

What IS worthwhile is to arrange for your water heating to be using off peak electricity as far as possible. That may require a change in your lifestyle.
