Hi,

I've got an already-tiled bathroom that I want to replace the tiles in.

Having never tiled before, do I just chip off the old tiles, apply some form of tile adhesive then put the new tiles on?

Someone has suggested tiling over the current tiles???

Is this as easy as it sounds!?

No, it never is it :)

If you take the old tiles off, take them all off before you start, then you will be able to judge whether you have to reskim the walls before you begin the tiling.

take off the old tiles and have a look at the plaster behind. if the tiles had been fixed properly before theres a good chance plaster will come off aswell in places. check rest of wall with a coin and if it sounds hollow that will need to come off aswell because if you tile over it the weight of tile and adhesive will pull it off
ps if you get wall plastered it needs aprox 3 weeks to cure before tiling and prime using bal apd (an acrilic primer) not pva water based
