Painting Over Plaster

I went to b+q and got a tub of dulux trade vinyl matt for my mist coat,

they just had magnolia and white in this

do they also do the various colours in dulux trade vinyl matt (for desired paint) as i couldnt see any?

2nd coat is desired colour right? watered down by 15%?

and same for 3rd coat?

Yep..Lucy try an find a dulux trade centre its easier and normally cheaper

And yes you should thin down the 2nd and 3rd coats too..dulux is quite a 'dry' emulsion to apply

Hi

Would this be the same dilution etc for coving (plasterboard type)?
The reason I ask is that the coving makers recommend using one of their sealers, (so do Dulux come to think of it, on new plaster)!

BLOODY EXPENSIVE STUFF, would much rather water paint down!

Anyone?

Many thanks

There is one thing by a paint maker advising this and that, but they do not always work. As Decorators find out to THERE expense. For New Gyproc Coving all you need to use is Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt and follow instructions for bare/new surfaces. One example of something going wrong with a sealer is Gyproc Sealer as it can cause some papers to loose adhesion after while (To the Decorators expense etc).
