Plastic bathroom ceiling?

Fitting a new bathroom and step ma requests ceiling covering. Is this stuff t&g and how is it fixed? Batons behind? Also can I fit downlight spots or do they get too hot for the plastic?

If you cant locate the ceiling joist i would suggest battoning, clips together nicely and can "invisably" fix, not sure if i would be comfortable with downlights in this? Anyone else?

Thanks, does it pin to the joist/ batton and if so doesn't it show the nails?

I use the white head polytop nails in the groove, don't bang it in too hard though
