Hello,

Recently had my house totally replastered and have painted most walls with B&Q value matt magnolia emulsion just to get the walls covered. Well ive been quite surprised how nice the walls have come out after 2 coats. The problem is on the stairs where people have "brushed" against the wall it is showing some marks. Would a vinyl matt emulsion help me out here?

Thanks

Hi, the Sunday Times Homes section recently mentioned a paint that developers are beginning to put in new flats to keep the public areas looking clean. I live in a flat and the walls on the stairs are covered in the kind of small imperfections you mention, as well as some black marks as people bang their bags against the wall. Unfortunately, I can't find the article - although it was very recent. However, seems to me that might be what you need. Sorry, I can't be more help. Another solution might be to put up a dado rail. This keeps people slightly away from the wall.

Try Dulux Diamond Matt it's 10x tougher than ordinary matt emulsion. I have used it in school corridors and it stands up better than ordinary matt emulsion.
