varnish remover

Hi,

I am redecorating my hall way,
Could anyone tell me if there is a good varnish remover, so i dont have to rub down the dado rail, something i could get from B&Q?

dont think such a thing exists

nitromors means protecting the carpet the wall as its caustic so not realy sutable
hot air gun will do it but youll have to protect the wall against the heat

whatever you do will require lots of rubbing and scraping so no easy fix [that i know off
