CanI remove the gas fire element from my Baxi back boiler?

I have a Baxi back boiler with a gas fire front. I do not require the gas fire part of it as I have radiators which provide enough heat and fire front is taking up valuable space in my living room as I would like to put furtniture in front of it or possibly a sofa. Is it possible to remove the gas fire part of the boiler? I only require the back boiler to function. If I can't remove it can I box it up in some way, perhaps using something similar to a radiator cabinet?

how about moving the back boiler further into the wall so it doesn't stick out so much?

I'd appreciate any advice/tips.

The fire is part of the flue system.

dia why could it not be boxed in a cabinet allowing sufficient ventilation?

Hang on...You said that you want to remove it because its taking up too much space.

Then you said, can you cover it with a radiator cabinet.

Err....wouldn't that take up more room?

Well if I can't remove it then at least I'll try to cover it up because I wont use it. The existing fire front cover looks really ugly.

When he comes home and find his family DEAD on the floor, maybe, other will.

And just maybe the fire won't look quite so ugly.

Rip the dam thing out and fit a condesing boiler in the kitchen, = problem solved.

Have seen the gas fire decomisioned before by removing and capping gas supply to fire 0n the 3 way valve. Then fitting radiator grill over fire (with sheet metal cover removed), but bbu would need enough ventilation, the main gas fire carcass must be left intact as this is part of the flue system.
this would still need corgi engineer.

Ps as you have open flued appliance recommend that you purchase carbon monoxide alarm.
