Tiling onto plasterboard

I'm hoping to re-tile my bathroom soon but I'm certain that when I start removing the old tiles, then most of the plaster is going to come off with it. Rather than get a plasterer in, can I just put up new plasterboard and tile directly onto it without skimming? I'm sure I've heard of something like plasterboard that is moisture resistant so should be suitable for the job - Aquapanel maybe?

if you're not too worried about losing a little space in the bathroom, then yes, you can dab aquapanel boards to the existing plaster substrate providing it's sound.

i would stabilize the existing dusty plastering with a dousing of diluted pva.

once the dry wall adhesive is set, the aquapanel boards should be drilled and screwed to provide extra stability.
