had paramount windows round from the north east and they said that they use argon (i think) inside the windows which has much better insulation than other window units. They said only them and one of the big national firms use this at the minute. It keeps the heat in the house in winter and the heat outside kept out in the summer

he did a test where he had a heat lamp with a section of one of their windows and if you put your hand on the other side of the glass you could feel no heat coming out, he then put a standard double glazed unit next to the lamp and if you put your hand on the other side you could feel the heat coming out.

he also said they'll fit k glass but not guarantee it, is k glass bad?

thanks

Many firms supply argon filled units, hes just selling his stuff.

K glass is a hard coat insulating glass and every one who fits it should guarantee it, its not a problem?.....

Better still is a soft coat insulating glass, combined with argon in the gap these units achieve 1.1, Nickolls and Clarke (the builders merchants) supply a sealed unit like this, as well as others, Affordable Windows in Lancs make their own called triple shield, its good stuff.
