I am making an oak conservatory and i need to know how much support 24mm d/glazing panels need on each side
i have allowed 20mm is that enough?

the length of the panels is just over 3 mtrs and the width about 700mm.

Doesn't this depend on the mullion or aluminum glazing bar? These are typically 15-20mm or thereabouts - plus 5mm each side for movement?

The toughened glass is OK with this small amount of bearing

Thanks Im not using any metal bars - the glass will lay directly onto the rafters with some glazing tape.

How are you sealing the external joint between them and holding them down - a strip of timber?
