I want to put a edge along my lawn, whats the best way to do it? Wood or the plastic green stuff?

I think the best way is to cut a groove, about 4" deep, and then fill with about 2" concrete.

I have just put a sleepr border around my lawn,
How about using driveline bricks which will frame the garden and also give a neat mowing edge, you can pick the bricks up for around 8p each. Just bed them down.

yeah, Which one will look better and last longer?

Is your garden edge straight? If so you can use timber, though I think it looks rubbish.

if the edge is curved then the plastic one is better (if its the bendy stuff I am thinking of), though I think it looks rubbish.

I replace a lot of plastic edging, which seems to go brittle quite quickly.

As a general point, asking which'll look better is a little pointless, isn't it? Everyone will have their own opinion.
