Have seem a few pointers on other topics regarding oak and steel and problems with steel rusting on the oak and generating black stains.

This was also given me as advice from my carpenter.

I am getting some oak veneer internal doors fitted, does this apply to these as well (i.e. not solid oak).

What is the best options, I am looking for a satin brushed steel type finish, and have been advised to go for brushed aluminium hinges and door furniture does this sound correct?

Will I be OK with a standard stainless steel B&Q hinge or go something a bit more specialist, i.e. a aluminium hinge? Will these come with aluminium screws? etc etc

Any pointers to good sites for Al door furniture?

Welcome to the forum. You've posted in the wrong place.

Ironmongery Direct have a wide range of door furniture, including aluminium. Their prices aren't always too inviting.

However, you don't need to worry about what hardware you use on an oak veneered door. You may get some slight staining from steel fixing screws where they pass through the veneer, but not I would have thought anything to worry about. Use stainless steel screws if you're at all concerned.

I would go for brushed stainless steel hinges and door furniture, myself.
